Freshen up your wardrobe

First: Out with the old, in with the new. I am a firm believer of getting rid of clutter. So those jeans from 1990 probably should go, or that over embellished trench that you are waiting to come back in to style… debatable. The point is to do some spring-cleaning in your closet now and then!

Second: Find some pieces that will last, styles that are not too trendy. Simple silhouettes that can be versatile, like a cotton black dress you could wear all summer with sandals and then into the fall with a sweater. The key is finding clothes that you can wear in many different ways.

Third: A few must haves, a great bag, a great jacket and great shoes. This means clean colors, possibly bold but no labels. If they do have labels and are name brands, small labels are better. The idea is unique shapes and styles, cutting edge designs.

Forth: Jewelry. Find pieces that are youthful and fun, but always of high quality. There are ranges from all different price points, but I find that pieces made with real stones and quality metals last longer. It is always good to have a few statement pieces that are just for fun but then many pieces that are good for everyday.

Last but not least: Try on lots of different styles and shapes, things are always changing in fashion and why not try something new and bold that you have never done before. It might work, it might not, but half the fun of fashion is taking a risk!
