Shorter, shorter and shorter…

Hemlines are moving closer and closer to you know what. Is it Gwyneth Paltrow who started this trend, the 60’s fashion references or the demand of the public to wear it and show it off? Maybe one or all three, regardless, dresses and skirts have reached an all time high. So should you jump on the bandwagon? That is up to your body type, and your personal style. There is a certain level of taste that must be used in this circumstance. Even if you do have a Kate Moss or Gwyneth Paltrow body it does not mean you should snatch up all these latest looks. Here are a few tips for embracing the short skirts, to look and feel like a superstar.

  1. Wear a long button down cardigan with tights and mary-janes. Throw on a belt and you have the look. Simple and sexy and maybe a little short, but the opaque tights act as leggings to give you that extra warmth and protection!
  2. Find a great pair of tailored short shorts; wear those under your panty skimming dress as an undercover disguise. Pair this look with opaque tights and boots for more of a winter look or wear it with sheer tights and heels for a out on the town evening. No one will know what you have going on under that dress!
  3. If you are petite and around 5 feet tall, this style looks great on your body type. Because your legs are shorter, this style can add some length to your body. It can show off your legs! It is best to pair these dresses with high heels, so you elongate your best feature. Embrace it!
